Day One - Friday 21st May

Full club dress as we depart the clubhouse by luxury coach at 4.45am precisely. Our flight (Czech Airlines OK655) departs Stansted at 8.50am.

Arriving in Prague at 11.40am we have time for a quick liquid refreshment before checking into the deluxe Pension Tenax in central Prague for our luxurious 2 night stay.

We have the afternoon at leisure so why not enjoy the delights of this wonderful, historic city, key sights include Prague Castle, Charles Bridge and Wenceslas Square. Alternatively, Czech citizens are known as the biggest consumers of beer in the world, so why not join ’em?

The evening brings with it the chance to sample Prague’s many beer halls where the average price of a ½ litre is 50pence. (That’s nearly a pint for you britishers)

Day Two - Saturday 22nd May

Match Day! We have the morning to catch up on some drinking (did I tell ya the beer is cheap?) before heading to a ground somewhere to play this afternoon’s fixture against ARC Uridica. Apparently for £12 we can drink and eat all we want after the game. This will be paid from the tour kitty with thanks to those at home.

Full tour fancy dress is expected by ALL members. If you’re still standing after the festivities, why not head into Prague and search for that illusive authentic Czech bar, strike up a conversation with a friendly local and eat Goulash or somethin?

Day Three - Sunday 23rd May

We check out today (Providing we’re still AT the hostel by then) and prepare to come home. The flight (OK 656) doesn’t leave until 4.50pm so there’s plenty of time to catch up on some sightseeing before the 10km journey to Prague airport for the 2 hour flight home. Barring terrifying, life-threatening turbulence, we should be back in Great Yarmouth by 8.30pm. Just in time for a drink…..

Donut’s famous Q&A’s

  • What’s the theme this year?

It’s netball players, Pabs will supply bibs at a cost of only £7 with your initials on. Its up to you to do the rest - fake boobs, a skirt, knee length socks, a wig etc.

  • What about currency Donut?

The Czech Republic uses the Koruna (£1 = 48 Koruna, figures correct at time of publication). With Czech beer at apparently 30-70p a pint you shouldn’t need to break the bank. Food is also cheap(ish).

  • Is the hotel decent?

    ….Hotel?

Oh, yeah….Hotel! It’s 2 or 3 to a room with a bath between 2 rooms. There’s no breakfast included, but plenty of eateries nearby.

  • What about the tour fines?

There should be about £400 worth so I thought we’d pay for the food at the match (£300) and go from there. Should mean Saturday is a cheap day!!

  • Any special dress?

Club dress (blazers etc.) on Friday am and fancy dress on Saturday, do what ya like Sunday.

  • Are we gonna get stuffed a la Aer Lingus?

ARC played Lakenham about 3 weeks ago, dunno the score though but they host a lot of UK teams so we should be okay AND we’ve got Eddie Ablitt!
